Fitness Equipment Service and Setup is committed to doing everything possible to provide its customers with superior services and products that meet real needs and provide lasting value. We specialize in repairs to  Precor / Life Fitness / Stairmaster products. As authorized service agents in the Ottawa area, we are  dispatched to Commercial gyms across the Ottawa area to solve all warranty issues that arise ( Movati, Planet Fitness, Anytime Fitness…)  From years of experience, we are familiar with recalls, and know all the little issues to look for and tweak to help keep the units operating at OEM specifications. We pride ourselves on being the most detail oriented service company, enabling your facility to maximize their purchase power by extending the life of the equipment in the facility.

 

I have attached a list of the items we perform during our preventative maintenance, as well as the time required per unit that is necessary to ensure the units operate at peak levels and increase longevity. All Preventative Maintenance requirements listed in the User Manual and Manufacturer Authorized Training manual for each brand of equipment are as follows :

Cardio- Treadmills, Bikes, Ellipticals (Estimated Average Time - 30 minutes per unit) :

•Test for proper line or battery voltage on all Cardio Units.

•Remove necessary hoods and shrouds for visual inspection.

•Blow out dust collecting on electrical parts and vacuum it up.

•Keypad and Display Test, Record displayed mileage, check Toggle switches.

•Heart Rate/Safety Cord Test, Elevation Test (inspect for noise, speed of elevation).

•Inspect belts, chains, bearings, pivot points, etc., and measure tension. Lubricate.

•Check distance of speed sensor from optical wheel or magnetic pick-ups.

•Speed and Elevation Calibration, check, investigate and clear logged error codes

•Check walking belt tracking and tension, walking belt / deck wear, deck brushing where required

•Perform AC or DC amperage draw to substantiate belt deck wear. Advise of belt and deck

  replacement when required.

•Listen for excessive bearing chatter or excessive noise.

•Make sure all connections are secure on lower electronics package.

 

Strength ( Estimated Average Time - 15 Minutes per unit) :

•Inspect all strength cables/belts: along length, at and under attachments. 

•Inspect upholstery and grips for cracks, rips, wear or loosening.

•Inspect adjustable seating and supports including Pop/T-Pins.

•Test all machines in an attempt to locate loose, noisy or misaligned components.

•Tighten or lubricate any loose or noisy components and re-test machine(s) to ensure loose

  component(s) or noise has been fixed.

•Tighten or lubricate any loose or noisy components.

•Inspect Shrouds for cracks or loosening.

•Clean guide rods and lubricate with light silicone lubricant.

•Ensure guide rods and centre rods are aligned properly.

•Check for any parts in need of imminent replacement.

• Communicate parts that will need to be replaced in the near future.
